Anthony would consider extension with Nuggets

Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony is now willing to consider signing an extension with the team.

It’s just the latest surprising twist in a saga that began before the start of the season and has only continued to gain steam.

However, Anthony didn’t say that he didn’t want to be traded, only that he would consider signing an extension if the deadline comes and goes and he hasn’t left town.

The three-year, $65 million offer by the Nuggets might be more than he is able to get paid next offseason depending upon what happens in the new CBA. (more…)

Lakers showing interest in Anthony

The Los Angeles Lakers are the most recent team to get in contact with the Denver Nuggets about Carmelo Anthony.

The Lakers would likely ship Andrew Bynum and other pieces to Denver to acquire the All-Star forward.

Los Angeles would like to rid themselves of Ron Artest, but it’s unlikely the Nuggets would have any interest.

Anthony would be a tremendous addition for the Lakers and could give the team some much-needed energy. (more…)

Anthony trade still on hold

Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony could be traded any minute, but that’s been the case for a few months now and yet he remains in the Rocky Mountains.

The New Jersey Nets remain the favorite to land him, though the New York Knicks are also interested.

The Nets have the upper hand because they have pieces to trade, whereas the Knicks really don’t.

The Nuggets haven’t yet allowed the Nets to speak with Anthony, which is also holding up the deal. (more…)
