Anthony trade still on hold
Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony could be traded any minute, but that’s been the case for a few months now and yet he remains in the Rocky Mountains.
The New Jersey Nets remain the favorite to land him, though the New York Knicks are also interested.
The Nets have the upper hand because they have pieces to trade, whereas the Knicks really don’t.
The Nuggets haven’t yet allowed the Nets to speak with Anthony, which is also holding up the deal.
The Nets want to have a contract extension in place so that they don’t trade for Anthony and then watch him leave via free agency.
